July 1, 2010 Welcome Girlfriends & Company, We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday visiting with family and friends. Last month GMU® celebrated two years of fun and inspiring friendships with “The Girlfriends Weekend”. Thanks to everyone who came out and shared in the celebrations. There would be no club without all of our amazing, dedicated members. This month is the beginning of Season 3 and we’re just getting started! With every new season comes fresh ideas and more ways to have fun and make friends. After looking back at the past two years, and careful consideration of member survey responses, we have decided to begin hosting bi-monthly parties starting next month in August. Having events every two months will give members the chance to better plan ahead and increase participation. We’re also moving the parties to Friday nights to alleviate a lot of work and family schedule conflicts. Our first bi-monthly event of Season 3 isn’t just a party, it’s a fiesta! Come join us on August 27th from 8:00pm – 11:00pm at the Four Seasons Hotel for Girlfriends Salsa Night. Be prepared to shake those hips and salsa all night long! Another new development in Season 3 is The Girlfriends Weekend Unfold Your Body, Mind & Soul™. These are group travel escape weekends for our Girlfriends twice a year. We understand the importance of having enough time to plan for events, therefore we will plan our trips four to six months in advance. GMU is developing “The Pathway to Friendship”. It will be our very own social media website exclusive to GMU members nationwide. Our no-networking policy will remain enforced. Watch your e-mail for the launch date and make sure to keep your membership active in order to access the site. There’s plenty more in the works, so stay tuned for more awesome Season 3 additions and changes! In an effort to spread the word, expand the club and get more women to share in the Girlfriends Experience, we are proud to announce that GMU’s advertisements will be in the Cheesecake Factory® menus at the Forum Shops starting late August. If you haven’t already done so, make sure to take advantage of GMU’s Action & Referral Program, created exclusively for Girlfriends Meet | Up® members to earn GMU credits and cash. There are many ways to earn rewards, like referring friends and attending events. For more information on this exciting new program and to start earning rewards, click here. Membership cards are here and ready to be distributed. If your membership renewal is coming up, make sure to renew by July 31st. Any membership expiring within 90 days of the card distribution will not receive a membership card. The cards will be valid from July 2010 - July 2011 and will allow you to enjoy savings from our participating merchants. Our Girlfriend of the Month is someone very special to me: My daughter, Candace. She’s smart, beautiful and has a big heart. She has been a member of GMU since conception and has worked late nights as a membership consultant and researching. She is a first-year Student Dentist at Baylor School of Dentistry in Dallas, TX and attends GMU events during the summer. Thank you Candace for all you do; I’m grateful to have you as a daughter and a member.
